
Cole Scholey Obituary, Death – The Beach City, Ohio community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 21-year-old Cole Scholey, who died following a tragic head-on crash Saturday morning on U.S. Route 62 in Perry Township.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. near milepost 11 when Scholey was driving a 2019 Ford Ranger northbound and, for reasons still under investigation, traveled left of center. His vehicle then struck a southbound 2021 Honda Odyssey driven by 56-year-old Kelly Kemp of Massillon in a violent head-on collision.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, where Kemp was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash. Scholey was critically injured and transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where he later died despite medical efforts to save his life.
A juvenile passenger in Kemp’s vehicle was also seriously injured and transported to Aultman Hospital for treatment.
Investigators noted that neither driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and speed is suspected to be a contributing factor as troopers continue examining the circumstances leading up to the collision.
