
Juan Carreon Obituary, Death; The Modesto community is mourning the tragic and violent death of Juan Carreon, 37, who was killed near the Neece Boat Ramp in an incident now being investigated as a homicide.
According to the Modesto Police Department, officers responded shortly before 4:00 p.m. on April 9, 2026, to the 700 block of Neece Drive after receiving reports of a person down in the area. When officers arrived at the scene near the Neece Boat Ramp, they found Carreon suffering from multiple injuries.
Despite rapid emergency medical response, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the case is being treated as a homicide, and detectives have launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal attack.
Police also stated that the suspect remains at large and is not in custody as investigators continue to gather evidence and follow leads in an effort to identify those responsible.
