Kara Beagle Obituary, Death; The Liberty community is in deep mourning following a devastating crash that claimed the lives of four people, including three young passengers, in a fatal single-vehicle accident along FM 563 on Friday evening.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 7 p.m. on April 10, when a 2005 Chrysler 300 driven by Kara Beagle, 37, of Liberty, left the roadway and struck a tree approximately 0.8 miles south of Interstate 10. Authorities confirmed that all four occupants died in the impact.

The passengers were identified as Jay’Shawn Godfrey, 19, of Houston, along with two juveniles aged 17 and 15, whose identities have not been released due to their age.

Investigators said speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, though the exact circumstances remain under active investigation. Officials are continuing to review evidence to determine what led to the vehicle leaving the roadway.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the Liberty Independent School District, where several of the victims were students. Superintendent Dusty McGee confirmed that Liberty High School students were among those lost and described the incident as a heartbreaking blow to the entire school community. Counseling services and grief support have been made available as students and staff begin to process the loss.

As families, friends, and classmates grieve, the crash has left a lasting void in the community. What began as an ordinary evening ended in unimaginable heartbreak on a rural Texas roadway.
