The Peoria Police Department said officers responding to the scene observed multiple individuals fleeing on foot and in vehicles. Investigators later located Allison with a gunshot wound to the head. Though initially believed to be non-life-threatening, his injuries proved fatal.

Preliminary findings suggest that a large group had gathered at Bradley Park for an unrelated event when gunfire erupted between two groups. Authorities confirmed multiple areas of the park were affected by shooting as officers worked to secure the scene.

The deadly incident at Bradley Park followed two earlier shootings in Peoria the same evening. Around 5:30 p.m., two teenage boys, ages 16 and 17, were injured at Stadium Park on East Lake Avenue. One was shot in the chest and the other in the upper arm, with one of the teens later found to be in possession of a stolen firearm. A third shooting was reported around 6:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of North Mountello, where bullets struck a vehicle and nearby home, though no injuries were reported.

While witnesses reported seeing a person taken into custody at Bradley Park, officials have not confirmed any formal arrests in connection with the shootings.

The series of violent incidents has left the Peoria community shaken, particularly the loss of Jarvis Allison Jr., whose life was cut short at just 17 years old. Family, friends, and residents are now mourning a teenager whose future was stolen in a moment of chaos and violence.

Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing as they work to determine the full sequence of events and identify those responsible.
