
Mason May Obituary, Death; The Lebanon community is mourning the heartbreaking death of Mason May, 21, who was killed in a violent head-on collision Friday evening on KY 49 (Bradfordville Road).
According to the Kentucky State Police Post 15, the crash occurred when a 2014 Ford F-150 driven by Jacob Buckingham, 35, attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. During the maneuver, the truck collided head-on with a 2011 Honda Civic driven by May.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but the Marion County Coroner pronounced Mason May dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. Buckingham was transported to Spring View Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the crash remains under active investigation as troopers work to determine the full sequence of events that led to the fatal impact. Several agencies assisted at the scene, including the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Fire/EMS, Lebanon Fire Department, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
What began as a routine drive quickly turned into a devastating tragedy on a rural stretch of highway, leaving a family shattered and a community struggling to process the sudden loss.
As investigations continue, loved ones are left to grieve a life cut far too short.
