
Jamildrick Hancock Obituary-Death – A Sidon community is mourning the tragic loss of 21-year-old Jamildrick Hancock, who was killed in a shooting Wednesday afternoon along U.S. Highway 49 South in Leflore County.
According to investigators, the deadly shooting occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. just past the Double Quick gas station on Highway 49 South. Authorities said Hancock had recently left work and was on his way home when the incident unfolded.
Early findings from investigators indicate that a vehicle pulled up behind Hancock’s car near the gas station before gunfire was reportedly fired into his vehicle. Following the shooting, Hancock’s vehicle left the roadway and came to a stop just beyond the station.
Responding law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found Hancock suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials confirmed that the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) has taken over the case and is now leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
At this time, no arrests have been announced, and authorities have not released information regarding a possible suspect or motive. Investigators continue gathering evidence, reviewing details from the scene, and working to determine what led to the deadly encounter.
The tragic incident marks Leflore County’s first reported homicide of the year, leaving many in the community saddened and searching for answers.
