Officials say deputies forced entry and discovered three people inside the residence, all confirmed dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as 79-year-old George Jedrey, his 85-year-old wife Betty Jedrey, and their 64-year-old son Thomas Pinard, all residents of Stanwood.
Preliminary findings, along with evidence recovered at the scene, suggest the deaths were the result of a suspected murder-suicide involving gunshots. Investigators, however, emphasized that the case remains in its early stages and no clear motive has yet been determined.
Authorities stated there is no indication that anyone else was involved and no evidence suggesting a continuing threat to the public.
The investigation remains ongoing under the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from multiple agencies including local EMS, fire and rescue teams, victim services, and the county medical examiner.
As news spreads, the Stanwood community is left in deep shock, struggling to process the loss of three lives inside what authorities describe as a family residence.
