According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded on April 5, 2026, to the 300 block of Olmo Court after reports of an unresponsive toddler who was not breathing. When first responders arrived, they found the child in critical condition with severe injuries. Life-saving efforts were performed before the child was transported to a local hospital.

Despite medical intervention, Baby Jaxon died on April 9, 2026. His death was later ruled the result of a violent incident, prompting investigators to reclassify the case as a homicide.
Detectives identified an 18-year-old San José resident—who had been living in the home as the child’s foster sibling—as a suspect in the case. He was taken into custody on April 8 and initially booked into juvenile detention on multiple felony charges.
Following the child’s death, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office formally charged the suspect with murder in juvenile court on April 20, 2026. Prosecutors also filed additional felony counts, including child abuse resulting in death and multiple related charges.
