According to authorities, officers and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the 600 block of North 10th Avenue at approximately 9:21 p.m. on May 12, 2026, after receiving reports of gunfire and a person lying in the roadway.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered Boyd suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency crews immediately began life-saving measures in an effort to stabilize him. Despite those efforts, Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene by the Chambers County Coroner’s Office.

Officials confirmed that Boyd’s body has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, where an autopsy will be performed as part of the ongoing homicide investigation.
