Vera Grace Beagrie Obituary-Death – The Charlestown community is mourning the passing of Vera Grace Beagrie, who died peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at The Grove Private Residential Care Home in Charlestown at the age of 94.

Vera was a devoted wife to her late husband Robert and a deeply loved mother to Neil, Alistair, and Jane. She was also a proud mother-in-law to Daphne, Laura, and Tim, and a cherished grandmother to Robert, Rachel, Alex, James, Tom, and Kate. Her family circle also included her great-grandson Eli, whom she adored.

Loved ones remember Vera as a warm, kind-hearted woman whose lively spirit brought joy to everyone around her. Her devotion to family and the care she showed to others left a lasting impact on friends, relatives, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was also treasured as a sister to Gordon and Dave, both deceased, and to her surviving brother Stan.

Tributes from family and friends describe Vera as someone whose presence brightened every gathering and whose love and encouragement shaped generations of her family. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those closest to her, but also countless treasured memories that will continue to live on.

Vera’s funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at St Paul’s Church, followed by burial at Campdown Cemetery.

In a touching tribute, loved ones noted that June 4 would have marked Vera’s 95th birthday. Family members have encouraged attendees to wear bright colours or whatever makes them feel most comfortable as they come together to celebrate her life and memory.

Donations in Vera’s memory, in lieu of flowers, will support the work of Cancer Research UK through a retiring collection on the day of the service.

Vera Grace Beagrie will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever treasured by her family, friends, and community.
