Sean Meehan Obituary, Death; Malheur County District Attorney David Goldthorpe has confirmed the identity of a man found dead with what officials described as “suspicious injuries” near Moores Hollow Road off Interstate 84 in late March. The death is now being investigated as a homicide.
According to a news release issued on April 17, the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office responded on March 30 to a report of a suspicious person and unknown items in the area. When deputies arrived, they discovered the body of 26-year-old Sean Meehan.

Due to the circumstances at the scene, the Malheur County Major Crimes Team and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab were called in to assist with the investigation. Authorities later confirmed that Meehan’s death is being treated as a homicide.
Several agencies are now involved in the ongoing investigation, including the Oregon State Police, the High Desert Drug Task Force, the Ontario Police Department, and the Malheur County District Attorney’s Office. Officials say investigators are continuing to gather evidence and follow leads.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact Detective Michael Hale with the Malheur County Sheriff’s Office as the investigation progresses.
Records also indicate that a missing persons report had been filed for Meehan earlier in March. A social media post from a family member dated March 16 stated he had last been seen in Ontario, Oregon, and appealed to the public for help in locating him. At the time, no official law enforcement confirmation had been released regarding the missing person report or the later discovery of his body.
