Austin Wade Johnson Obituary, Death; The community of Calvert City, Kentucky is mourning the loss of Austin Wade Johnson, who passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the age of 43 in Marshall County, Kentucky.

Austin was born on July 28, 1982, in Paducah, Kentucky to his parents, Kenneth Wade and Carol Lee (Buckner) Johnson. He spent his early years in Lyon County, Kentucky before his family relocated to Calvert City during his childhood.

He was a graduate of Marshall County High School, class of 2000, where he was an active member of the school’s golf team. Following his education, Austin built a career through Laborers Local 1214, contributing most recently to the region’s dam lock project.

Outside of work, Austin found joy in the outdoors, especially through hunting and fishing—activities that reflected his appreciation for nature and simple moments.

He is survived by his parents; his brother, Seth Allen (Renay) Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and his paternal grandmother, Emma Holt Johnson of Kuttawa, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Betty Buckner, and his paternal grandfather, Walter Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Austin’s memory to the New Bethel Cemetery Fund.

Austin Wade Johnson will be remembered for his life, his work, and the memories he shared with those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
