Authorities identified the deceased victim as William Johnson, 37, who succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital after being shot during the incident. A second victim, a 54-year-old man whose name has not been released, was also hospitalized with serious injuries and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

The Wichita Police Department said officers were initially dispatched to the area of Kellogg and Dugan after reports of a disturbance and possible gunfire. Upon arrival, investigators located evidence of a confrontation in a parking lot in the 6300 block of West Kellogg.
While officers were still working the scene, emergency dispatchers received another call reporting that two gunshot victims had arrived at a nearby hospital. Both individuals were later confirmed to have been involved in the same incident.
Police say the violence appears to have stemmed from an earlier disturbance that escalated into gunfire, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation.
During the course of their inquiry, officers arrested Willie Bowen, 54, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital. He was booked on a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer, and officials say he is believed to be connected to the broader incident, although his exact role in the shooting has not yet been fully clarified.
Detectives continue to investigate what led to the confrontation and are working to determine whether additional charges will be filed as more evidence is reviewed.
