Scarlett passed away on Monday at Cork University Hospital, surrounded by her grieving family, after suffering catastrophic injuries in an attack that occurred on the R494 near Birdhill on March 21. She had remained in critical condition for weeks as medical teams fought to save her life.

According to family updates, Scarlett had been on life support since the incident, with relatives keeping a constant vigil at her bedside. In an emotional statement shared by her sister-in-law, Josephine Duffy, the family confirmed that the life support machine was turned off on Sunday afternoon, with close relatives allowed to remain with her through the night.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, Scarlett’s condition did not improve, and her passing was formally confirmed by both her family and Gardaà on Monday evening.
