A prominent figure in the college’s debate community, Lafferty served as president of the Parliamentary Debate Team and earned international recognition for his skill in competitive debating. Earlier this year, he achieved a major milestone by winning first place at the World Universities Debating Championship held in Panama City, alongside his debate partner Madeleine Wu.
