“We regretfully share that our beloved sister Maisy Ho passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by family. We appreciate your condolences and ask for privacy during this difficult time,” the family said in a statement reported by the *South China Morning Post*.

However, local reports, including *Sing Tao Daily*, stated that Maisy Ho had been battling breast cancer for several years. It was further reported that her condition worsened after the illness returned, leading to her admission into the intensive care unit at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, where she later passed away.

Maisy Ho was one of Stanley Ho’s 17 children and one of five born to Lucina Laam King-ying, his second wife. Her mother passed away in 2022. She came from one of Hong Kong’s most prominent business families and played an active role in the family’s corporate empire.

In her professional career, she served as an executive director at Shun Tak Holdings, the flagship company of the Ho family, where her sister Pansy Ho holds leadership positions as executive chairwoman and managing director. Beyond business, Maisy was also involved in public service, including advisory roles with several organizations such as the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and the University of Hong Kong.

Educated in the United States, she graduated from Pepperdine University with a double major in telecommunications and psychology.

News of her passing has sparked widespread reactions across Hong Kong, mainland China, Malaysia, and Singapore, where many have shared condolences and tributes online. Admirers described her as kind and graceful, expressing shock that she had passed away relatively young.

Her father, Stanley Ho, who died in 2020 at the age of 99, was one of Asia’s most influential business figures, once ranked among the region’s wealthiest individuals with a fortune estimated in the billions.

As the Ho family mourns another profound loss, tributes continue to highlight Maisy Ho’s contributions to business, philanthropy, and public service, as well as her place within one of Asia’s most prominent dynasties.
