Donald James McMullin Death
ROLLA, Mo. — Dr. Donald James McMullin, a longtime internal medicine physician whose quiet dedication shaped generations of care in Rolla, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, just two days after celebrating his 76th birthday.

Born February 4, 1950, Dr. McMullin was the son of the late George Francis McMullin and Ruth Eileen (Moore) McMullin. Known to many simply as “Dr. Mac,” he built a medical career defined not by titles, but by time spent listening, learning, and walking alongside his patients through every stage of life.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in 1976, Dr. McMullin committed himself to internal medicine and to serving the Rolla community he would call home for decades. Colleagues and patients alike recall his relentless curiosity and his belief that a good physician should always remain a student. He routinely devoted long hours to patient care and study, striving to refine his skills and deliver the best possible treatment with compassion and integrity.

Beyond the exam room, Dr. McMullin embraced life with equal enthusiasm. He enjoyed live music, time outdoors, and keeping up with Rolla soccer, but his greatest joy came from being with family and friends. He shared a life of partnership with his wife, Patricia “Pat” Humberger McMullin, and together they raised three children.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, of Rolla; his son, Steven McMullin and wife Christine of Columbia, Missouri; daughters Katy Wilkins and husband David of Sandy, Utah, and Laura Turner and husband Chad of Willard, Missouri; his sister, Linda Jesse and husband Chuck of Columbus, Ohio; and his grandchildren Hudson Turner, Beckett Turner, Lexie Wilkins, and Kennedy Turner. He is also fondly remembered for the companionship of his dog, Trooper.

A memorial gathering celebrating Dr. McMullin’s life will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Rolla Senior Center. Family and friends are invited to share memories and stories reflecting a life devoted to service, learning, and love.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rolla Animal Shelter Building Fund, honoring Dr. McMullin’s compassion for all living things.
