
Adrian Clay Wrice Obituary-Death – Hesperia – A tragic shooting in Hesperia has left a family devastated after 50-year-old Adrian Clay Wrice lost his life Monday night, while authorities later arrested his younger brother in connection with the homicide investigation.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 10:45 p.m. on May 11, 2026, in the 9000 block of Second Avenue in Hesperia. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Wrice suffering from a gunshot wound.
Law enforcement officers immediately began lifesaving efforts until emergency medical personnel arrived. Wrice was later airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators said the deadly shooting reportedly stemmed from an argument prior to the incident. Authorities identified the suspect as 30-year-old Talib Elisha Venegas of Hesperia, who is also the victim’s brother. Officials stated that Venegas fled the scene before deputies arrived.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division–Homicide Detail took over the investigation and later secured an arrest warrant for Venegas. With assistance from the Specialized Enforcement Division, authorities located and arrested him without incident.
Officials confirmed that Venegas was booked into the High Desert Detention Center, where he remains held without bail as the investigation continues.
The tragic case has shocked members of the Hesperia community, with many saddened by the loss of life and the family circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities say additional information may be released as the investigation progresses.
