Daniel Barger Obituary, Death; 74-Year-Old Butler Man Dies One Week After Pendleton County Crash

A Pendleton County man has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash last week. Daniel Barger, 74, of Butler, was pronounced dead Monday at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, one week after the collision.

The crash occurred on Tuesday, February 3, on Ball Road/U.S. 27. According to Pendleton County Emergency Management Agency spokesman Rob Braun, Barger was attempting to pull north onto the roadway when his vehicle was struck by a southbound white work van.

Barger was the only occupant in his vehicle. Braun noted that snowy conditions at the time of the crash may have made the white work van difficult to see, which could have contributed to the collision. The impact was described as a T-bone crash.

Barger was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center following the accident, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the exact cause has not yet been determined.
