Chasity Ervin Obituary, Death; A tragic late-night crash in the Raleigh area of Memphis has left one woman dead and two infants fighting for their lives, as authorities say an impaired driver is now facing multiple criminal charges.
According to the Memphis Police Department, the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Stage Road near Robbiedon Street. Investigators report that a Nissan Murano driven by 33-year-old Travis Johnson lost control, struck a median, and overturned, resulting in a devastating scene.

Officials identified the victim as 33-year-old Chasity Ervin, who was pronounced dead following the crash. Her sudden passing has left family and loved ones grieving a life lost far too soon.
Two infants, believed to be Johnson’s children—ages 1 year and 2 months—were also inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, where they remain in serious condition.
Authorities reported signs of impairment at the scene, noting that the driver exhibited bloodshot eyes and that containers of Colt 45 beer were found both inside and outside the vehicle. Investigators believe alcohol played a significant role in the crash.
Johnson was initially transported to the hospital for treatment before being taken into custody. He now faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence, public intoxication, reckless driving, and two counts of reckless endangerment. He has since been booked into the Shelby County Jail.
