Marano dedicated more than three decades of his life to law enforcement and public service in Harrison County, West Virginia. Over the years, he served in multiple roles, including deputy sheriff and chief deputy, before being elected sheriff.

According to the West Virginia Sheriffs’ Association, Marano served two terms as Harrison County Sheriff after being elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2012. Following his time in law enforcement, he was elected as circuit clerk in 2016, continuing his commitment to serving the community.
A lifelong resident of Clarksburg, Marano was widely respected for his dedication, leadership, and long-standing service. His passing has left a deep sense of loss among colleagues, friends, and residents who knew him throughout his career.
