Peter Butler Accident Obituary, Death; The Victorian racing and equestrian community is mourning the tragic loss of Peter Butler, who died in a road accident on Monday morning at the age of 59. Mr. Butler was driving for South West Horse Transport when his truck rolled on Slate Quarry Road around 8:00 a.m., crashing through an embankment. Emergency services responded swiftly, but sadly, he could not be saved.

At the time, Mr. Butler was transporting eight horses to the Camperdown jump-outs for trainers Patrick Payne and Michelle Payne. The accident claimed the life of three unraced horses, including Critical Intent, while several others were injured and required urgent veterinary attention.
