Officials confirmed that WorkSafeNB recognized Jenkins’ illness as a workplace-related occupational disease. As a result, his passing has been formally classified as a Line of Duty Death, acknowledging the risks firefighters face and the sacrifices they make in service to their communities.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jenkins is remembered as a devoted husband, father, and friend. Family members and colleagues say he carried himself with humility and kindness, qualities that defined both his personal life and his career.
He is survived by his loved ones, including Joanie, Garrett, Aaron, and members of the Jenkins family, who are now receiving condolences and support from fellow firefighters, friends, and community members.
