Jerry Henderson was born on May 6, 1957, in Hartford to the late Carl Henderson and Thelma Mae Fulton Henderson. Growing up in the same community he would call home for most of his life, he developed strong ties to the area and built lasting friendships with people who knew him from childhood through adulthood.
Family remained a central part of Jerry’s life. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Joe Henderson. Despite these losses, he remained closely connected with relatives and loved ones who shared in his life’s journey and memories.
Jerry is survived by his devoted companion, Carolyn Baize of Hartford, with whom he shared many meaningful years. He also leaves behind two children, Nathan Baize of Cromwell and Cody Baize of Hartford. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Carly Baize and Noah Baize, as well as two great-grandchildren who will grow up hearing stories about the man affectionately known by many as “Mustard.”
In addition to his immediate family, Jerry is survived by several siblings: Janice Barron and Linda (Larry) Heflin of Beaver Dam, Carl “Ben” (Nelda) Henderson and Jackie (Marilyn) Henderson of Cromwell, and Ronnie Henderson. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him.
Those who knew Jerry remember him as someone who valued family bonds and the relationships formed through years of shared experiences. His presence brought a sense of familiarity and warmth to those around him, leaving an impact that will not easily fade.
According to the family, a private service honoring Jerry’s life will be held at a later date, allowing close relatives and friends the opportunity to gather and reflect on his memory.
