Corey Harrison Accident; Reality television personality Corey Harrison, widely known for his role on the hit show Pawn Stars, is asking fans for support after revealing he spent nearly all his savings on medical bills following a severe motorcycle crash earlier this year.
Harrison, often called “Big Hoss” by fans of the show, said the accident occurred in January while he was in Tulum, leaving him with serious injuries including 11 fractured ribs, a concussion, and facial trauma. The crash was so severe that it forced him to miss the wedding of his father, Rick Harrison, which took place later that month.
Following the crash, Harrison spent approximately two weeks in the hospital. However, he said he made the difficult decision to discharge himself early due to the rapidly increasing cost of medical treatment.
After returning to his home in Tulum to recover, Harrison said he soon began experiencing severe pain and breathing issues. A house doctor reportedly administered IV fluids and morphine, but his condition worsened as his oxygen levels dropped dramatically.
Fearing for his life and unable to afford a return to the initial hospital, friends helped transport him to a different medical facility where he underwent three surgeries. Harrison remained hospitalized for an additional 18 days before finally being discharged.
The reality star says the medical crisis left him facing approximately $120,000 in expenses. According to Harrison, the financial burden has nearly wiped out his savings, leaving him with about $400 in his bank account and debts owed to friends and family who helped cover his treatment.
Although he still receives occasional residual payments from reruns of Pawn Stars, Harrison said he is no longer actively involved with the show.
His father, Rick Harrison, briefly addressed the situation, stating that Corey is an adult and will manage his life as he sees fit.
In an effort to recover financially while continuing to heal, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched with a goal of raising $18,000 to help him get back on his feet.
For now, Harrison remains at home recovering from his injuries, saying mobility remains limited as he continues the long process of healing from the traumatic accident.
