The community is grieving the passing of Greg Clendaniel, a cherished staff member at Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) whose dedication, humor, and warmth left a lasting impact on colleagues, patients, and friends.
Clendaniel, who had been with PRMC since October 2001, was widely admired for his professionalism and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him. A graduate of Bennett High School, he dedicated over two decades to serving the community, building strong connections that went far beyond his daily duties.
Coworkers remember him as a supportive and lighthearted presence, someone who could brighten any room with his laughter and kindness. His family expressed deep sorrow over his passing, with his daughter, Jules Clendaniel, sharing heartfelt words: “One of my most favorite people in the whole entire world is gone forever. I may never understand why. But I always looked up to him. He made me laugh more than anyone. I can imagine how many broken hearts he has touched in his life. Thank you, Greg Clendaniel, for all the smiles, laughter, encouragement, love, and fun. I already missed you. Now I’ll never even run into you again.”
Greg Clendaniel is survived by his daughter Jules, his brother Erin E. Fortin, his father H.G. Clendaniel, and extended family including cousin Brooks Mears and family member Mike Clendaniel. Friends, colleagues, and community members continue to honor his memory, remembering the joy, encouragement, and love he shared so freely.
The PRMC community mourns the loss of a remarkable individual whose legacy of kindness, laughter, and dedication will not be forgotten.
