The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of a young child who died in a tragic accident Saturday morning. Sarann King, a 2-year-old girl from Leola, was pronounced dead at 8:40 a.m. after falling from a tractor.
According to the coroner, Sarann suffered a traumatic head injury. Her death has been ruled accidental.
The incident occurred in the 300 block of Newport Road in Upper Leacock Township. Officials say Sarann was riding as a passenger on the tractor when she fell from the vehicle and was subsequently struck by it.
Investigators believe Sarann opened a door on the tractor, which led to her fall. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under review.
The loss of the toddler has deeply impacted the community, with many mourning the sudden and heartbreaking death of such a young child.
