Authorities have identified the man found deceased inside a New Iberia residence earlier this week. The Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed the individual as Franklin Randall, Sr., 43, of New Iberia.
Law enforcement officers discovered Randall on Thursday, February 5, after responding to a welfare check at a home in the 600 block of South Corinne Street. Officials have not released details about what led to the welfare check.
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed. Investigators noted that there were no indications of a gunshot wound at the scene.
The case remains under investigation as the coroner’s office continues its examination and local police work to determine the circumstances surrounding Randall’s death. Additional information is expected once the investigation is complete.
