SANTA ANA, Calif. — A late-night shooting outside a house party in Santa Ana has left one man dead and two others injured, prompting an active investigation by local authorities. The incident occurred Saturday night on the 700 block of South Broadway, shocking residents and raising concerns about public safety in the neighborhood.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, officers were dispatched around 11:10 p.m. following reports of gunfire outside a residence where a party was underway. Multiple patrol units arrived to find three people suffering from gunshot wounds in the street. Emergency responders immediately began life-saving care before transporting all three victims to nearby hospitals.
The victims included a 41-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, and a 37-year-old woman. The 41-year-old, identified as Santa Ana resident Moises Rufino Gil-Benitez, later died from his injuries. Police have confirmed that his death is being treated as a homicide. The remaining two victims are hospitalized and are expected to survive, authorities said.
