SIOUX CITY, Iowa — The Sioux City community is grieving the sudden loss of Kelsi Soenen, who passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the age of 32. Her passing has left a deep void among family, friends, and all who were touched by her vibrant spirit and generous heart.
Kelsi was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend, known for her warmth, creativity, and lively personality. Born and raised in Sioux City, she attended local schools where classmates remembered her as compassionate, enthusiastic, and always willing to lend a hand. Throughout her life, Kelsi pursued her passions with a bright smile, giving generously of her time to community events and causes she held dear.
Friends and family describe Kelsi as a talented artist with a love for painting and music, whose humor and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She also had a profound affection for animals, especially her loyal dog, Baxter, whom she rescued and adored.
Kelsi is survived by her parents, Thomas and Angela Soenen of Sioux City; her brother, Michael Soenen; and her extended family, including nieces, nephews, and close friends who regarded her as a sister. Interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
