Jack devoted approximately 32 years to the Raymond Fire Department, where he held multiple leadership positions, including secretary, treasurer, and Captain. Throughout his long tenure, he was known for his professionalism, integrity, and calm leadership. Fellow firefighters remember him as a mentor who led by example — someone who placed service above self and always prioritized the safety and well-being of the community. His steady presence and commitment earned him deep respect within the department and beyond.
Alongside his work in emergency services, Jack dedicated nearly 45 years to Hinds Community College, making him the longest-serving current employee at the time of his passing. His career in education reflected the same values that guided his fire service: reliability, humility, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
