Man Killed in Irving Road Rage Shooting; 62-Year-Old Suspect Arrested on Murder Charge
A deadly road rage incident at a heavily traveled Irving intersection Wednesday evening has resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man and the arrest of an older driver now facing multiple felony charges.

Irving police said officers were dispatched around 5:45 p.m. on February 4 to the intersection of North Belt Line Road and Finley Road after reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was identified as Yoduardy Sanchez-Naranjo. Officers immediately rendered aid before he was rushed to Parkland Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Investigators determined the shooting was the result of a road rage confrontation. Police were able to quickly identify a suspect vehicle and later arrested 62-year-old Kenneth Nixon of Irving at approximately 9:30 p.m. that evening. Nixon has been charged with murder, along with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities emphasized that the incident was isolated and confirmed there is no ongoing danger to the public.

Sanchez-Naranjo, who was originally from Cuba, had lived in multiple cities including Dallas and Las Vegas, according to public records. His death has sparked grief among family members, friends, and community residents, while also renewing conversations about the dangers of escalating conflicts behind the wheel.
